Kinkakuji, the golden pavillion - 鹿苑寺金閣

Short Description

One of must-go-site in Kyoto, fantastic and luxury yet modest building of the temple have been attracted many travelers. The temple is especially beautiful with snow. But this is for only lucky people, since there is not much snow in Kyoto nowadays.

North west area, so-called Nishiyama area

Access:

From JR Kyoto Station:

• Take City Bus #205 or #101 bound for Kinkakuji at JR Kyoto station and get off at the Kinkakuji-michi Stop. Then walk 5 minutes toward west. About 40 minutes travel.
